A BUZZFLASH NEWS ALERT

WASHINGTON, January 30 – In a letter to Senate leaders, Senator Bernie Sanders called for a major investigation into what caused the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression.

Sanders proposed expanding a Congressional review of how up to $700 billion in Wall Street bailout funds are being spent to also investigate how the financial crisis started in the first place.

"We have an enormous responsibility to explain to the American people what led to this financial crisis, how did we get here, who is responsible, and what we can do to make sure that this never happens again," Sanders (I-VT) wrote in a letter to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV).

3. The fox had the keys to the hen house for eight years.

Congress can spend millions to find an answer but I'll give it to them for free.

4. Yes we should
1) It's the right thing to do

2) Could help prevent this from happening again via leading to progressive policies that the republics will no longer be able to use as a political boogie-man

3) Exposes conservative ideology for the sham that it is: total bs aimed at redistributing all wealth upward.

5. I'd bet that a through investigation would lead to as many indictments as the torture scandal
And then there is the wireless wiretapping.

6. Maybe we can recruit the people
from the Warren Commission, the Iran-Contra Commission, and the 9-11 Commission. That way we won't have to buy any new supply of whitewash.

There is no way in hell we little people are going to find out who screwed us over.

8. We just need to move forward.
It doesn't matter how we got here, we just need to move on. Does that sound familiar? Without knowing how we got here or what caused it how can we fix it. The same goes for Torture and Wire Tapping..How did it happen and how can we fix it..
