3. I think they'll go for Steele but Dawson is a perfect choice for them
He was also rabidly anti-desegregation.

I have a real problem just looking at that man and can't afford a new television! That peice of shit made enough money helping to steal the election he should be able to retire somewhere far far away from Ohio.

5. First order of business
put some white gloves on those two guys that were running against him and make them get the juleps for the guests.

Dawson would be the perfect face of the repukes IMO and he would really help us cement majorities for the next several years.

10. Don't forget Steele...
He is is black, is arrogant, adheres to right wing everyone can 'pull themselves from their bootstraps' ideology, and would be a great PR face for the all white country club.

16. I agree with most...
...of what you said.

However, I know Mr. Steele (in a limited social manner) and though he may be the embodiment of most of what we see as wrong - he is NOT arrogant. He is a nice, decent man - that just happens to be wrong on many things.

17. I dont know him personally...
But I know him from running for various officies and in the interviews and debate he did, I thought he was argumentative and arrogant. He wasn't very good at making his point and after getting frustrated would dig his heels in.

I remember him running in Maryland and he was passing out 'Steele Democrat' campaign bumper stickers. When challenged on why he was Republican did not appear in any of his campaign ads, he made up a story that 'Steele Democrat' was like 'Reagan Democrat'. Maybe arrogant is not the correct word, but I'm not sure how to describe the feeling I got when I listen to him speak/debate.

12. What a stretch...you don't think they want a black RNC chairman...off set Obama
Edited on Fri Jan-30-09 03:41 PM by LaPera
in their racist backwards feeble republican minds...Like putting Palin in as VP to get the Hillary, woman's vote...republicans really see us all as Limbaugh ditto-heads, sheep, nothing more...easy for them to manipulate.

Edited on Fri Jan-30-09 03:43 PM by LaPera
This leaves the RNC deciding between an African-American (Michael Steele) and a race-baiter whose political philosophy is grounded in his childhood opposition to the desegregation of schools (Katon Dawson).

The latest voting (85 votes are needed to win):

19. I suspect the RNC just shot themselves in the foot.
Considering their "base' ... more to lose than to gain. (It stinks of 'tokenism.')
