I just don't believe Fitzgerald has a case. Or if he does, it is for jaywalking.

2. Seems likely. I think Fitz has a case, but it won't meet the "beyond reasonable doubt" standard...
due to some of the shenanigans that have taken place, and Blago is a silver-tongued devil.

5. blago has lost touch with reality
his testimony today was far from "silver-tongues" - it smacked of a bumbling, rambling whacko.

He is just building his case for an insanity plea.

4. Blago is going to prison
No way to he stay out of an orange jumpsuit.

6. Seems to me this impeachment deal is about getting rid of a governor who has done a poor job
Like they wanted to do something like this all along and the big Federal splash gave them cover to begin impeachment proceedings.

I really have very little confidence in Fizgerald anymore after his "elephant giving birth to a mouse" performance in the Valerie Plame investigation. There was a lot of noise but in the end very little was accomplished.

7. We agree totally
He's a fart in a windstorm.

The legislature wanted Blago gone because he was a terrible governor.

Maybe Fitz was in cahoots with them ... just to give cover?

8. If Fitz doesn't have what it takes to go to the Grand Jury, he doesn't
have nearly enough to go to trial. This just makes Illinois Politics look worse. Have everything in order before accusing and arresting someone. We would all want that. How about a speedy trial?

There's a reason Genson quit--if he thought there was a tiny chance he could win with a batshit client like Blago, he would have stayed on.

11. Can you imagine the theatre
if he tries to run his own defense, acting as his own attorney in the criminal trial?

If he's a little more sane than that, I picture a different route: He goes on right-wing radio and TV, and hints that he has some Chicago dirt on Obama that will come out in a trial. The wingnuts dump money at him for a defense team, and maybe they even buy a book of his lies.

Then, when it's showtime, there's nothing but a ripoff of people who wanted to believe a nutcase, if it fed into their delusions!
