Fitz wouldn't indict Blago for just talking like he was going to sell
the Obama seat, would he? I mean just talking about trying to get something
for the appointment is not a crime, is it?

Surely Fitz would have to have actual evidence that a crime was planned and
at least on the verge of occurring, right?

That's what's weird. If a crime was committed - surely Blago must know
that Fitz knows about it. Why bother with his PR junket - if there was
hard evidence that would prove without a doubt he's a liar.

I sure do hope Fitz has got something airtight.

1. Who knows what Blago did or didn't do. Apparently that wasn't the point.
There is something really weird about the whole thing, & I would trust that bastard shitz
as far as I could throw him.

8. The guy is a dangerous asshole. Look at it this way, how would you
like to be the object of a fitz press conference? No charges, no grand jury, no evidence, just a bunch of accusations thrown out there. "Criminal complaint" my ass. There are supposed to be rules to protect a citizen, any citizen from shit like this.

4. "Why bother with the PR tour"??? Might I suggest:
to try anything and everything to keep one's ass out of jail? Maybe?

5. He's a US Attorney, they don't feel they have to follow the rules.

That would have never crossed his mind. Not even a thought.

7. The Concept Of Conspiracy
Words have consequences...especially if you're in the public limelight. Talk can be seen as intent...especially if Blago was trying to get a prid quo pro (something for something) out of the appointment. The crime of shopping around for a deal can be viewed as part of a conspiracy...and this is where I think Fitz is heading.

I was listening to some of Blago's calls today...they were playing them at his trial...nothing scurilous, but what you heard was Blago speaking with a lobbyist about moving some legislation after the lobbyist did him a "favor"...so is a "favor" the same thing as taking a bribe? Or does taking money for your campaign rather than putting it in your pocket equal the same thing? Lots of grey area that is part of Blago's defense.

We don't know what goods Fitz has...but he felt compelled to rush on this one, and now is sitting on going to the Grand Jury. I think he's waiting for the legislature to do their thing (and I hear that will be done on Thursday), then he'll press ahead with charges. Then...we'll see where it's mere talking or an intent to do more.

Many here in Illinois trust Fitz a lot more than Blago...soon we'll see if he's got it right.
