Our dear friends in the media seem now to have decided they want to talk about how bad ..........
..... things are going for the hapless Democrats now that they have won back the white house and increased their majority in both houses of congress.

I'm really glad to see they've decided to change their tack from giving bush a blow job for the last eight years to covering the Democrats.

The foregoing was sarcasm in the extreme.

The media is worse now than I recall them being in the past. If it is bad and it has anythng to do with a Dem, they lead with it. The republican OBSTRUCTIONISTS are being painted as principled and serious against the Democratic onslaught.

2. It's the new "story"
They have a narrative they can "sell", and then they assign roles to the real-life players to fit the script.

13. You really think the fact that the owners of the media outlets
have big bucks defense contracts have nothing at all to do with it?

17. Well, I didn't say any such thing!
The overall narrative can come from the top... Although there is such a culture of "conflict" (because Conflict Sells!) in the infotainment-as-news industry that these narratives pretty much write themselves anymore, along old familiar lines long-since ingrained in the industry.

3. Quite frankly, IMO the problem isn't always the media
sometimes it's the democrats or 'us.' Instead of marching to the President's drum, some democrats are nitpicking the plan and trying to insert their pet cause into it. I think Pelosi and Reid need to tell their caucuses that there is plenty of time to address their individual priorities--with a promise that that will happen soon--but right now everybody needs to get in line and get this stimulus passed.

It's one thing if there is constructive input to improve the chances of the plan to do what needs to be done to get the economy jump started... It is quite another to insist narrow issues and constituencies are appeased in this particular effort.

The GOP managed to generally pull together on big issues and thoroughly screw the country for the better part of three decades. On this one, we dems need to unify and slam this one over the fence--to get the country moving back in the right direction. Our broader tent can address other issues pretty quickly, but let's get this one out of the way rapidly without distractions.

do they?

Why do we pay these people so much?

12. What I mean is your post is just a bunch of kneejerk reaction
And that I find all of these anti-media posts seem to only see what they want to see and tell one side of the tale, an ironic trait considering what so may of them are bitching about.

10. Have you noticed that when the Congress is controlled by
Repubs and Dems speak up about legislation the Dems are often characterized as "playing politics."

But when the Republicans speak up about legislation in a Dem controlled Congress, they are "fighting back."

The double standard, and I think I'm being nice by characterizing it that way, you could also call it brainwashing, is so freakin' obvious this time around.
