The most interesting thing I discovered this week was that Rs dislike family planning/contraception
in general. Imagine that in this day and age. Fascinating.

Good luck winning that battle.

6. I heard on the news this AM that President Obama asked Rep. Henry Waxman
Edited on Tue Jan-27-09 03:11 PM by BrklynLiberal
to remove the allocation for birth control that was a of part the Stimulus package portion for Medicaid.
I found that very disappointing that this was deemed as an acceptable thing to compromise on.
That is not a compromise. That is a total surrender.

17. Surrender? That, unfortunately, is what the Democrats are best at.
You'd think they might have noticed that they *WON* the
last two elections, but no...

7. Women who have multiple children are less likely to go out and compete with MEN for jobs
they are also MORE likely to stay in marriages, because they cannot support themselves & the children...that prevents a LOT of men from having to pay child support, and to keep a woman in the house to tend to their needs...and it also means that many women will "look the other way" when "her man acts up" or even cheats on her..

Hardcore conservatives believe that the wimminfolk belong in the kitchen and laundry room...not in the workforce.

they don't LIKE taking orders from a woman..
they have 3 basic models of wimminfolk
1) Mom who loves them no matter what they do
2) Wifey who caters to their every whim, and will have sex with them whenever they want it
3) Tarted up blonde women in red dresses

because they have nothing else.

10. every sperm is sacred
for realz! Also it comes from the MAN, it must not be hindered!

The super-religious Republican my step-brother married won't take the pill. They have 4 kids now and are having trouble supporting them. She's never worked, she's just a baby-maker!

I'd kill myself before I'd get pregnant. I'm dead serious.

13. The only life worth saving is that which has not been born yet.
Since the pre-born are innocent, their lives are pure and thus worth more than those of the post-born. Really. They fucking believe that shit.

What's really wild is their notion that Life begins at conception, but Original Sin waits until the baby pops out and gets its first breath. Cognitive disconnect, thy name is Reep.

16. I don't think people know this.
Contraception is a daily part of the life of most American women of child bearing age in one form or another. We all know about the abortion issue, but to think that they are aligning themselves against family planning and contraception in general is just beyond the pale. The women will just annihilate the Republicans over this in the future. Talk about jumping off a cliff.

And who could forget that great moment when John McCain couldn't remember if he was for covering Viagra or aganist it.
