Rove sets the stage for Bush to accuse the Democrats of wanting a moment of "Political Theater"
The irony is so rich. I can just see them setting up for Shrub's little tantrum yesterday.

Rove: Got those veterans in place yet?

Aide: Sure boss. Here they are.

Rove: Are those actors or the real thing.

Aide: Actors--we put out a call to the real vets but no one showed up. Something about Walter Reed.

Rove: *&$#'em Actors are better-they look more real. GET THAT CUTE LITTLE GIRL UP FRONT. I WANT HER NEXT TO POTUS.

Aide: (Looks at his Blackberry) Hey Boss, POTUS wants his "Mission Accomplished" banner.

Rove: Tell him it's still at the cleaners. We're not going down that route again. AMERICAN FLAGS! I NEED AMERICAN FLAGS!

Aide: You got it, Boss.

Rove: Get the guy in the wheelchair in here. Oh *%#! is that a #%*^%$# peace sign on that wheelchair--GET HIM OUT OF HERE NOW!

Aide: Yes Sir.

Rove: IDIOTS, I'm surrounded by IDIOTS.

Bush: What's that Karl?

Rove: Oh not you, Mr. President.

Bush: What am I going to say?

Rove: You're going to accuse the Democrats of committing Political Theater, of course. HEY YOU MORONS, GET THAT OLD GEEZER OUT OF THE CAN. I NEED HIM NEXT TO THE PRESIDENT.

Bush: I should have worn my flight suit. Too late now.

Aide: Excuse me, Mr. Rove. Senator Leahy and Senator Schumer are here to see you.

Rove: Ooops, I gotta run. Good luck with the speech, Mr. President.

Rove exits (quickly) stage right--"Hail to the Chief" blasts from hidden speakers" as Bush steps up to the podium.

1. Sorry Mr. President, but an illegal war and thousands of
deaths don't add up to political theater. This might have worked with a do-nothing Congress and sleeping press, but you are now out there with no clothes on even if the press is still half asleep.

3. I don't think they i.e. Bush, Rove, Cheney etc. ever saw this coming.
I think they really believed that the Republicans would retain control of Congress and that they would never have to face a hostile legislative body.

Personally, I'd like to see the Democratic Party pull off some good "Political Theater".

Cue Speaker Pelosi.

6. They are the masters of theater aren't they?
I mean Bush can't appear with people except those who know they can be sent to Iraq at a moment's notice or people who have sworn "loyalty oaths".

5. Hypocrisy is what they do best. In fact, other than lying, stealing, and killing,
it's about all they do.

Oh, they know how to spend money, too.

8. Yup, he's an aircraft carrier landing, plastic turkey toting, veteran hugging hypocrite.
Him and the rest of the Republican con artists as well.
