Change, not obstruction
As the bleeding of jobs continues such as the announcement of 47,000 layoffs Monday, this would be a good time to continue to act swiftly. The crony capitalism policies that have brought this country to its knees need to be discontinued at this time for more sound economic policy. It’s time to tell the advocates of these policies they can join in trying to solve the economic crisis or not, but we aren’t going to continue with those policies. Maybe it’s time to ram broad based solutions down their throats like they rammed more crony capitalism, derivatives, and privatization down ours when the Bush Administration took over.

Instead of giving the CEOs of our largest publicly traded corporations the commonwealth’s money with no strings attached to stuff their pillows with, we must embark on policies that are broad based, puts more money in citizen pockets, and shores up the states’ coffers broadly to revitalize Main Street. That will help Wall Street in the long run. We can’t afford to keep doing the same old things with the same old players and the same old top down economic policies no matter what the advocates and the cult following they created have to say. To continue down the same old road is folly, not change or a way out of the economic malaise. It's time to tell these people: http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2009/jan/26/road-ruin-recession-individuals-economy
we tried their way and now it's time for change.
