Yup, I was paranoid, but now I'm pumped.

I was elated that he beat McCain, but there were some bad signs after that. Too many conservatives appointed to posts, too many olive branches to the Old Guard types, too much emphasis on togetherness. Oh yeah, I was getting nervous. And I know there were a number of DU'ers who were feeling the same way.

That's now over for me. Obama's Inauguration speech was a wholesale condemnation of everything that's been going on for the last 8 years. He essentially said "We're pissed and we're not playing along with this bullshit any longer." Since then, he's doing everything Anti-Bush and in overdrive. He couldn't get his pen out fast enough. And he looks locked and loaded (especially on Constitutional issues) to be more Left than he campaigned on some issues.

This guy is throwing haymakers on major policy issues like no other President has in his first week.

All the buddying up to Bush and Conservative/DLC appointments had me going crazy but Obama has really done the right thing on some major issues in his first 24 hours.

I have to say I am not only impressed and relieved but I am excited about our Government for the first time in my lifetime.
