Re: Criminal prosecutions: It has **nothing** to do with the WH or Congress once .......
...... the Justice Department gets the green light to start investigating. That's all it takes. A head nod from Obama to Holder.

There need never be one minute of hearings in the Capitol. There need not be one second of an Obama press conference spent saying anything beyond "We don't discuss ongoing criminal investigations."

Then it goes to trial. With judges and juries-of-their-peers.

And testimony and witnesses and evidence and affidavits and arguments and questioning and summations and verdicts and sentencings and imprisonments.

Cuz ya see ..... that's what the law prescribes.

1. Nod away, Mr. President.
Let's put those bastards in jail. Gitmo would be a perfect location for Dick and Lil' Georgie, Rummy, Condi, Wulfie, Addington, etc.

3. We have to get Holder confirmed first!
Rat Bastard Republican obstructionist....think about it...the sooner the Holder comes in the sooner he starts appointing staff that starts digging...the Repugs have to delay this as long as they can.

7. Exactly, that's why all the calls for Obama to appoint a prosecutor
always looked incredibly stupid to me. We don't need no stinking independent prosecutor.

Obama will not look like he is seeking revenge and the rule of law will be followed at the same time.

8. Question.. I have heard this brought up several times now
if they have hearings and a jury of their peers find them guilty.. several people who voted for the war.. etc. could be convicted as accessories?

12. You can not go from hearings direct to a jury
In fact, the path from hearings to a jury is far longer than the path from Justice Department investigations to a jury.

13. Congress did not vote "for the war".
.... congress AUTHORIZED Bush to act, and Bush and Bush alone acted.

Got it?
