Is it just me?
I purposely do not go into threads that read "Recommend if..."

If a thread is compelling enough to stand on its own, that is an accomplishment. If a thread gets recommended, it should truly be something special or important.

Please don't ask me to recommend your post; I undoubtedly won't.

1. It's rather myspace-ish
"OHMIGAW, I have 3,900 people with me on their friends list!"

4. I fall in your category.
A post should rise on its own merit and not need to spell out a desire for recs.

6. No I am generally the same way with a few exceptions
ie, if they have something else in the title that grabs my interest (K&R if you want to see me naked, etc). :)

9. If it's just you, then it's just me too. I don't bother with those threads.

10. i never look at recommend. doesn't mean much on this site. certainly
not indicative if it is a worthy post.

i also dont recommend cause someone asks.

and i promise, i never ask you to recommend, wink.

11. No, it's not just you. I avoid them, too.
Even though I often agree with whatever the OP is, I actually DON'T recommend it because of that. To me, it's silly and childish, and I just ignore the thread. It's starting to get a bit annoying - to me, anyway.
