1. I agree with that.
It really is an unfair tax, and because it actually makes the poor pay more, it's going to be a popular thing to reverse.

2. That's been my contention for quite awhile.
You will always have resentment amongst some of the very rich as long as there are any government sponsored social programs. To completely eliminate the cap on contributions would put an end to fears of SS not being around when they get to retirement. I think it's a fair tradeoff. Reagan eliminated personal interest deductibility on Federal income tax giving the middle class one hell of a nice tax increase. Let Obama eliminate the SS contribution cap.

3. This brings joy to my heart. When Regan initiated this cap
he essentially shafted the Middle Class. "It is the Middle Class
who want these programs--let them pay for them." How many Democrats
voted with him????

Thank you Mr.President Obama for recognizing as Americans we should
all be in this together. It is prescient of you to recognize that
if Globalization is to work we must have serious safety nets. Otherwise,
instead of a flourishing Democracy, we will have a banana republic.
