Now that the boooosh regime is gone (what a beautiful thought that is this morning), so is the veil of silence and fear...the intimidation factor this regime held over the corporate media and many others. The real truth begins now...as there's no more "executive privilidge" or enablers inside the government to prevent the investigation of what went on and who was responsible.
One body that has a vested interest is the UN. The booosh regime bullied many diplomats. Who can forget John Bolton? Many there have held their tongue in fear of political and economic fall-out, but now that cloud is lifted and its time to shine some light into the war crimes and criminals.
I don't think it should be President Obama's first priority...sadly we have a really broken nation. You have to stop the bleeding before you can diagnose both a cure or the cause. However, the priority does belong to others now...people who were wronged or were thwarted in their search for truth and justice. It's up to Congress to push forward with their invetigations, the Justice Department to clean house and restore its independence and work with the Congress in prosecuting those who abused power and broke the law. It's up to the UN and International courts to investigate the crimes against humanity and refer further action to the World Court. And finally, it's up to those who were directly wronged by this regime to be able to sue and keep these criminals on the run...if forcing them in civil courts to either admit to their crimes or bankrupt them in the process.
The bottom line is not to forget...or to "move along". Too many crimes were committed...too much damage has been done. Without accountability, there'll never be a full redemption.
Cheers...
