For some reason I have been itching to wear bell-bottoms, grow out my hair and beard -maybe even an occasional vest!

65. The late 60's was when it was the most fashionable.
You had people wearing bell-bottoms with t shirts and sandals. Then in the 70's it morphed into disco with the bell-bottomed polyester leisure suites and shirts with the wide collars and wide belts and shoes with platform soles. Yeah the 70's sucked fashion wise. And the music started going downhill then too.

I'd wear my bell-bottoms with everything from Mexican peasant blouses
to tie dyed shirts. I loved them. I also had a pair of wool Navy surplus pants (wide leg, button-up) that I wore the death out of. I also wore maxi granny dresses! The early 70s continued the clothes that I loved and then fashion disaster to me swept in. I hated all of that disco stuff and couldn't wear platform shoes to save my life. I still never wear heels.

good as bell bottoms. They add alot of curve. And the waistlines have dropped to optional hipster level too, even with the pants pulled up.

Bell bottoms were from the 60's.

Anyways,as a 30 yr old,I am really liking the fact

I've also noticed that plaid is slowly making a comeback,
which is great, because I luved grunge in the 90's.

Edited on Wed Jan-21-09 09:10 AM by junofeb
My part of the '70's was polyester, qiana, painter's pants, gaucho boots and everything generally artificial and disco. But who cares if the clothes itched, were too tight and were so non-breathing as to cause rashes, the cocaine and quaaludes apparently took care of those little annoyances.

I'm fine with what I got now. The '70's only wished they had hemp jeans.

57. Now this is what I wore in the late 60's early 70's, along with halter tops and no shoes or
thong sandals. No polyester, no beads. On chilly days we would wear peasant tops made of gauze or light cotton.

I remember wearing hot pants to school and them telling me they were shorts and I argued they were culottes and believe it or not I won! : )

Ah to be young again (not to mention thin!)

68. I wouldn't mind getting my hair back
But I don't think I'd wear it in a ponytail, this time.

69. Well, clothes were "sexier" back then, imho.
To be honest, I miss seeing women wearing halter tops, tube tops, hip hugger bell bottoms, hot pants, and mini-skirts. The guys' fashions did sort of suck, though.

or after the second "election," at least. It's now about five inches past my waist. I'll probably be cutting off a foot or so of it soon. A quick way to lose some weight.
