2. Latest from her blog...

Ok. The breathing tube is OUT. Brittani's lungs are breathing on their own (with oxygen thru a canula or bi-pap, whichever she prefers at the time). They have rated her pain an 11 on a scale of 1 to 10. So lots of pain meds and anti-anxiety meds and she is doing fairly well at this point with trying to stay calm and re-learning how to breath comfortably- Brittani is not being allowed to sit up yet, needs to try to lie as still as possible and not bother any of the many, many tubes.

The only people allowed in the CICU right now for Brittani are the biologicals and Gavin- they told us that RSV is circulating and at high risk - especially for Brittani and folks with lung problems. Since this is Brittani's second txplant, it is especially important to keep her almost in isolation at this time.

We are so thankful for the support that you all are sending our way with your thoughts and prayers thru this website. Even though Brittani cannot read her webpage right now or have visitors, she will know how much she is loved and thought of when she is strong enough to get back "on-line." You guys are awesome.

We've had very little sleep, so for now- nitey nite until the next posting. :O)

3. Good to hear from you, sending more prayers

I am glad she is out of surgery and off of the breathing tube. That is fantastic. I will pray for her as she is in great pain now and I know that it will take a long time for her to recover from the transplant. She is only 18 years old and this is her secong lung transplant already in her lifetime. She is definitely a fighter. You are a very loving aunt to spread her story around so she knows that many people are thinking of her. Keep us posted.

Her aunt does post here which is why I became a blog subscriber... I was just lifting the latest blog entry and posting it in response to the req for info.
