Things have taken a while to settle in for me today. The Bush years are officially over. We've had the inauguration of our first black president. I really don't know what to say.

One thing I will say is that our work is just beginning.

To those of you in the truth, justice and accountability movement, I'm with you all. It is President Obama's duty to work to make things better, but we also owe it to ourselves to demand accountability and investigations into what exactly happened over the last 8 years. Only then will we have truly healed.

As Obama said, change doesn't come from Washington, change comes to Washington.

Well, if we want true change and reform, we need to start building it by looking back at what happened and do what we must in order to prevent a repeat of those mistakes. Holding accountable the perpetrators of war crimes, torture, crimes against humanity, etc. is where it starts for me, and I'm sure others here as well.

I look forward to building a peaceful future. While there's nothing wrong with looking forward, you need to first look forward to looking back. Only then will you understand what makes true change possible.

Peace be with you, my fellow DUers.

1. My Senators are Kerry and Kennedy..
and my Congressman is Tierney. I've called/emailed all of them about impeachment over the years, and especially Tierney with the various things Dennis Kuccinich tried to get going, but I was not persistent at all. I guess I got what I gave. I expect some hearings, committee's, commissions, whatever..maybe a special prosecutor if enough people make a stink. But I don't expect anything to come out of it but recommendations, and maybe a few 'bad apples' falling on their swords.

3. I believe the thing to do is stay persistent.
I never gave up the good fight for impeachment, prosecution, civil justice and all that stuff. As a matter of fact, I'm still on it. I'm in favor of a retroactive impeachment of Bush and Cheney to remove their pensions and bar them from holding future public office as well as suing the Federal Reserve under the RICO Act to fully root out the corruption. I'm also in favor of pursuing murder charges at the state and local level like Vincent Bugliosi has recommended as well as international tribunals.

My advice is to hang in there friend. We're all in this together.

i agree with you on all points. justice demands accountability for wrongs committed. when so much wrong was committed to let it go without holding those responsible accountable would be in my opinion a crime in itself.

edited cause i forgot a word

4. First things first
First thing that needs to be investigated fully is what happened on 9/11/2001.
Remember that?

Everything else pretty well stems on that episode.
