What I'll take away from Jan 20, 2009...

Woke up to realize I'd turned 53...a fresh 6 inch snowfall (rare for Raleigh!) and a bird feeder teeming with birds of all sorts....a nice breakfast with my wife....a long walk with her and our two choc. labs....then the day's highlight - watching President Barack Obama getting sworn in (actually watching quite a bit on CSpan before that), then enjoying - basking - in the afternoon's events on the TV. Right now sipping wine and getting hungry for dinner (courtesy of my wife!)...

I feel elated, proud, (a year older), hopeful, realistic, inspired, excited. So the work begins, but perhaps the nightmare ends! I can't wait to roll up my sleeves and do what I can to contribute!
