BREAKING: 68 Year Old Woman struck by Metro train
The good news is that she is reported to be alive, per ABC news.

So sad!

3. They didn't say
there was some speculation that it might have had to do with overcrowded platforms, but it was only speculation.

Let's pray that she is OK.

5. Jesus.
I'm guessing she got shoved over the side of the platform because of all the people. DC is going to be a madhouse today. I'm an hour south, and you couldn't pay me enough to go up there. Stay safe out there, folks!

7. God! People are dumb enough on the Metro on a good day.
Please, can we have a nation educational campaign instructing tourists on the proper use of the escalates, while we're discussion this?

Either walk up or move to the right. Don't hold everybody up standing in the middle of the step looking like you just arrived in Heaven or something. Yes, people actually live and work in DC and you can't get out of the Metro without going up the escalators.

Geez!
