That's sadly not surprising, with the prevalence of guns and the sadly neglected state of our cities. Poverty and crime go together. What's disgusting are the hateful and racist comments. We still have a long way to go, President Obama notwithstanding.

There were several violent incidents during MLK celebrations. The way you posted it, I wondered if there was a sniper attack on the parade.

5. Looks like the incident is unrelated to the fact that it was MLK Day.
In the first incident, Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman John Fortunato said that two young men began arguing and one of them pulled a gun and began chasing the other man while firing.
