Captain Sullenberger's normal route is LaGuardia-Charlotte-SeaTac. In August 2004, I took THIS airplane from Charlotte to Seattle.

I remember a very smooth turbulence-free ride, a nice landing and probably the most incredible cloud formation I have ever seen--lots of really pretty reds in the clouds.

2. One of my sisters took it just this past fall.
It was how she was routed to get back to Cleveland from New York. LaGuardia-Charlotte was the first leg. Don't know whether he flew it or someone else on the crew (he didn't start out flying this one, just took over when the trouble began).

3. Airline crews bid different schedules each month according to seniority
While he may favor bidding this route for some reason, if they said it was his "normal" route, they are probably referring to recent history.

4. if that's all you got
i'd say go with it and fly worry free again. Sounds like a smooth ride.

Life's a crapshoot, and if your mindset could tip the hand by .0001% with your faith in a positive outcome, would you gamble otherwise?

5. Here's the routes they flew that day - started out in my home city
of Pittsburgh.

The flight was supposed to have been the last leg of a four-trip day. The crew had begun the day in Pittsburgh, flown to Charlotte, N.C., then to LaGuardia, and were to head back to Charlotte in the afternoon.
