Side-splittin' Fox News comedy piece: "Most Americans think George W. Bush is a good person"
FOX News Poll: Most Call Bush a Good Person, But Say History Will Be Cruel

Thursday, January 15, 2009

Despite record low job approval ratings, most Americans think George W. Bush is a good person. And as he prepares to leave the presidency, more than twice as many people think history will be cruel to Bush as think history will be kind.

According to a FOX News poll taken during Bush's final full week in office, 34 percent of Americans say they approve of the job he is doing and 58 percent disapprove — his highest positive rating since December of 2007.

A 72 percent majority of Americans believe Bush is a good person, including an overwhelming majority of Republicans (93 percent) as well as majorities of Democrats (56 percent) and independents (74 percent).

Just over half (53 percent) think history will be cruel to Bush and 30 percent think history will be kind. Republicans (47 percent) are more than twice as likely as Democrats (21 percent) and independents (23 percent) to think history will be kind to the outgoing president.

4. He's also a guy most folks would like to have a beer with
fine... sure, whatever, I don't need to have a beer with my presnit, and for god sakes, I'd like him to be able to string a couple words together!

So yes, he MIGHT be a good person... but a terrible president... being a good person has zero, nada, zilch to do with being a good president

And yes, this is how you deal with this crap.

And for the record I have shared a cup of coffee with a former president... who was and still is a good person... and history, unlike this turd, is starting to show he was a better president than most thought at the time.

8. Yeah but you have to think how to disarm the usual suspects
so you aknoweldge what they believe, that he is a good man... and then go for the jugular, which is... that has nothing to do with being a good president. In fact, he's been the worst one in MODERN times

For the record, Hoover was a good family man and cared for his family as well... but he is STILL considered one of the worst presidents of the 20th century

See how that works?

It is all about disarming

10. Anyone that would like to have a beer with Bush would have a beer with a monkey too.
There would be no point in having a beer with the idiot cause there would not be any meaningful conversation.

20. I am sure he has a good taste in beer, and he is also a dry drunk
but again, having a beer with him does not make him a good president, and that is the point

He was fucked by the same sorry ass neocons as tried to screw Clinton and pretty much did make it hard for him to do anything. Same crew as was with the nixon, raygun, bush1 & bush2 administrations, who'll be fighting President Obama if they don't arrest the sorry assed treasonous bastards now. yep we should'a done it years ago

15. I don't get that. Why would anyone want to have a beer with someone
who looks down at you and treats people with scorn. No thank you!

I'd much rather have a beer with Clinton or Obama or even Hillary, because I would learn something (probably a lot!), and still have an interesting conversation. Even McCain would probably be a better person to have a beer with than Bush!

22. Those who KNOW him personally, aka are part of the familia
have a very different view of the guy. Again, being pleasant in polite company has NOTHING to do with being a good president, and this is why people have to learn to distinguish

Most Germans think Adolf Hitler is a good person

Thursday, April 27, 1944

Despite record low job approval ratings, most Germans think Adolf S. Hitler is a good person. And as he prepares to leave the country and fake his death, more than twice as many people think history will be cruel to Hitler as think history will be kind.

According to a FOX News poll taken during Hitler's final full week in office, 34 percent of Germans say they approve of the job he is doing and 58 percent disapprove — his highest positive rating since December of 1937.

A 72 percent majority of Germans believe Hitler is a good person, including an overwhelming majority of National Socialists (93 percent) as well as majorities of Social Democrats (56 percent) and independents (74 percent).

Just over half (53 percent) think history will be cruel to Hitler and 30 percent think history will be kind. Nazis (47 percent) are more than twice as likely as Democrats (21 percent) and independents (23 percent) to think history will be kind to the outgoing chancellor.

7. and these are the numbers that
will be quoted in the future to prove that "the American people liked him as a president, but the poor dear just had some horrible stuff happen on his watch. It wasn't his fault you know..." Last weeks legacy sell didn't work this will be the next sell.
