but if there isn't more money coming in soon, it will mostly likely be cancelled. I'll be honest - I'm shocked by this lackluster response. Especially since we've done this so well before. I know there were naysayers, but there were lots and lots of people who thought this was a good idea. If you still want to do this, it's definetly NOT TOO LATE - now is the time to send in your money.

((((waving hello to Ken the Florist :hi: )))))))

1. She has requested donations to her husband's campaign
and I think that might be part of the reason.

6. Flowers are swell, but $$ to campaigns will go towards saving the nation
The lady asked that money go into things more lasting than flowers.

She understands the importance of budgeting resources to best use. She knows we love her. She wants us to keep fighting too.

prefer using PayPal as opposed to credit card. I do, but maybe that's just me.

10. So what does one do who's supporting another candidate? Nothing? Or send her flowers
or donate to the american cancer society. I'm doing both. :)

you don't follow her wishes.

21. I just donated, blue. And let me just say....
Shame on the people who have pooped on this plan.

Please don't cancel the flowers, even a small bouquet will most likely
be appreciated.

MANY Duers may NOT be Edward's supporters in the primary, but I think
we ALL admire Elizabeth Edwards.

I won't be donating to her husband's campaign coffers, but I WILL send her
flowers and condolences, and I know she will fight this horrible disease with
the same courage she has shown in every other facet of her life.

Thank you, ourbluenation!

25. Hey, that's OK, whatever she gets from well-wishers will be appreciated, I'm sure!
I'm just really taken aback by the aggressively NASTY comments of some here....

Jeez, if you don't want to send flowers, then DON'T, but actively trying to
sabotage the kind gesture of another REEKS.

Look at the faces of the people in the above posts,
YEAH, they look FIT TO BE TIED!

Nice working against y'all!

I donated to Edwards' campaign as my token of admiration for her. I know the ideas aren't mutually exclusive, but in my case, the money is.

24. I would rather do what SHE wants:
donate to John's campaign. Let's face it, while flowers do show love and respect, she doesn't need the kind of support that flowers give, she needs the support that donations give. So, if you were going to give flowers and a campaign donation as well, just add the cost of the flower-donation to the campaign donation.

IMHO

When my cousin died recently, the family asked, in the newspaper obit, and personally to everyone who called or came by, for donations to the American Cancer Society or Hospice, IN LIEU of flowers. At the time of the memorial service, we were aghast at the amount of flowers that arrived anyway. The flowers were nice, they were appreciated, but they were thrown away....and we were sure that the money should have been better spent helping others....Gayle would have wanted it that way.

27. Maddy was trying to point out
to you yesterday that presenting the proposal for flowers, donations to cancer research or donations to the campaign to DUers first, in order to solicit their opinions before making arrangements for flowers, might have been a good idea.

Now your feelings are hurt and Ken the Florist is disappointed. Next time ask before committing DU to a project.
