1. Areas with larger rural populations
have cheaper gas and vote Republican. Areas with larger urban populations have more-expensive gas and vote Democratic. I doubt there's a connection.

4. Don't the blue states usually
have a high gas tax? I heard on the news that one of the reasons California gas prices are so high is that they have a very high tax.

6. I had thought that the price of gas was...
relative to the distance traveled from the refineries, and different taxes imposed by different states. Now the refinery equation appears totally bullshit...but I'm not sure about state taxes. Actually, I'm not sure about anything.
