They continue to try to make us believe the young people in Iran would cheer and greet us as saviors if we take out their government. Now where have we heard that before??

Dumbass.

18. And, to Dana Rohrbacher:
Looking for a Friday diversion? Have some highlights from last Wednesday’s Grover Norquist breakfast meeting:

* Tony Snow: “The Iranian people are more pro American than any American university faculty.”

* Slap-fight between Snow and Rep. Dana Rohrbacher. Dana sez Bush “has burned this bridge with me” regarding immigration, accuses administration of having a “secret agenda.”
* Snow: “You’ve got an attitude that is so poisonous to the administration.”

53. that Snow was an apparent "newsman" blurs the line even more
and makes his behavior doubly disgusting. Can you imagine someone like Murrow, Cronkite, Brinkley, Browkaw, Rather, doing something like this?

It's loathsome.

Just when you think the Reps. can't get any worse, they do. It's astonishing to me.

and they even tried to shout down that fascist pig Ahmadinejad!

:woohoo:

They're our kind of people, because they aren't religious nuts! And by the way, Iran's President is like a freaking super-conservative, he's Bush for Shi'a Islam. I mean the Supreme Leader is like Cheney too.

It's pretty freaking weird the parallels.

But if we bomb Iran, those pro-American and pro-west people will no longer support us. Would you support a nation if we were nuked or just plain bombed by them?

29. Are you "Effing" kidding me?
The White House Spokesman said that???

There is nothing short of impeachment that will save this country. The Republican Party in it's current form needs to be stomped to a bloody pulp of festering sores, only capable of crawling away to the margins of power. It must never be able to gain complete control over all branches of government.

I'm reminded of what Churchill said. I've modified it for our Democrats in Congress. "So let us bear ourselves and brace ourselves to our duties, so that if America and it's Democracy should last a thousand years - men will still say; 'This was their finest hour'".

Educated, thoughtful professors at U.S. universities are anti-American because they overwhelmingly reject this administrations policies or disagree with you at certain times? Even when their opinions are firmly in the majority of the mindset of this country?

So I guess it is true that you have to go through dumb, blind, and stupid to be a Republican.

Both of my parents were faculty @ different colleges & Universities.
My Dad is a combat vet from Korea, has a degree from Columbia,
TAUGHT CLASSES FOR A.E.I. in the 1980s, worked for the RNC @
one time, and has supported education and learning about our
history and Government for almost 60 years.

You are not good enough to sweep his front porch.

Say Tony, weren't you the one who sold the Clintons stole shit from
the White House story in 2001?

39. I think we should stop reacting to this mindrot and start asking
how such a asshole is in a position of power in our government--I mean really asking. Like, with a full investigation of the 2004 election, of Diebold/ES&S and of how the "Help America Vote for Bush Act" of 2002 got written and passed. There were some dirty Democratic hands in it, unfortunately (Christopher Dodd, Terry McAuliffe, for two), and a complicity of silence that followed, as the $3.9 billion electronic voting booty was distributed across the country, corrupting everything in its path. But it will mostly involve the two biggest crooks in the Anthrax Congress--Tom Delay and Bob Ney, across whose desks the bill was passing at the same time as the Abramoff bribes.

The 2004 election needs to be annulled, and all of Bush's court appointments voided. These people have no legitimate right to be running our government--and their illegitimacy becomes more obvious every time they open their mouths. They do not represent the majority of the American people, and never did.

41. Great. So here's the plan
Bush makes a speech declaring Iran the 51st state of America and tells all the Iranians between 18 and 42 they've been drafted and need to oust the current government. Then sits down and tries to figure out why the Iranians aren't doing what he wants while the grown-ups in congress do the work of America.

57. A lie worthy of this most dishonest regime.
It's a lie completely contradictory with the facts.

In fact, the average Iranian is almost certain to be more familiar with a couple of Americans than Tony Snow is, Kermit Roosevelt, Jr. and Norman_Schwarzkopf,_Sr.. Together, the grandson of a President and the father of a future general conspired to overthrow the democratically elected Iranian government of Mohammed Mossadeq in the CIA-sanctioned Operation Ajax.

After reinstating the Shah and ensuring that the Iranians would never again have a true political voice in Iran, the United States also gave material support to the foundation of the Shah's Gestapo-like secret police organization, SAVAK. SAVAK presided over an untold number of murders, assassinations, tortures, kidnappings and disappearances, and terrorized the Iranian people for twenty-five years, while Iran's oil resources were de-nationalized and sucked up by American corporations for a fraction of their actual worth.

Iranians are taught these facts as children. It's why they call us "The Great Satan." It's why they took our embassy personnel hostage--to prevent a similar overthrow of the Khomeni government. They hate our fucking guts and they have every reason in the world to hate our guts. If they get the chance to defend their country against us, two million armed and frothing insane Iranians will take up arms and be willing to die in waves to kill just a few dozen Americans at a time, anywhere Americans can be reached.

If Tony Snow doesn't know this, someone had better inform him in a hell of a hurry.

far beyond spin and far into the ridiculous - which only plays with probably 20% of the population of far-far right wingnuts - it demonstrates a willingness of the admin to take their party into irrevelance in the future. This is the presidents press person - playing the DeSouza (sp) line of ridiculousness ala "I now sympathize with the motives of Osama - and its REALLY all the liberals fault".
