Hey Natalie prostitution is still prostitution
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/northamerica/usa/4222155/Student-auctions-off-virginity-for-offers-of-more-than-2.5-million.html
<snip>
Miss Dylan, from San Diego, California, USA, said she was persuaded to offer herself to the highest bidder after her sister Avia, 23, paid for her own degree after working as a prostitute for three weeks.

She said she had had a lot of attention from a wide range of men, including "weirdos", "those who get really graphically sexual about what they want to do to me" and "lots of polite requests from rich businessmen".

Miss Dylan said she did not think it was particularly significant to be willing to sell your virginity and insisted that she was happy to undergo medical tests for any doubters.

She said: "I get some men who are obviously looking for a girlfriend but I try and make it clear that this is a one-night-only offer.

"I know that a lot of people will condemn me for this because it's so taboo but I really don't have a problem with that.

"My study is completely authentic in that I truly am auctioning my virginity but I am not being sold into this. I'm not being taken advantage of in any way.

"I think me and the person I do it with will both profit greatly from the deal."
----------------
May I remind you -
Bernard Shaw - allegedly - approached once a beautiful young lady at a party and asked her 'Would you sleep with me if I gave you one million pounds?' She looked at him and said 'Yes, I think I would!' He then asked 'Would you sleep with me if I gave you five pounds?' 'What?', she asked angrily, 'do you think that I'm a prostitute?' 'That we have already established', he retorted calmly, 'now we're only quibbling about the price!'

3. A 22 year old college student and she's never had sex?
I have a tough time believing this, particularly when her pictures are so very suggestive. She looks more professional than virginal. I bet she simply is a re-made virgin. Had her hymen sewn together again and is selling her new found virginity for money.

But this is really sad. Sexism and another republicon Great Depression makes prostitutes and johns out of all of us.

17. I'm in my 50's and married and have never.
But I'm seriously FUGLY. My husband and I have a totally platonic relationship and married in our 40's after more than 20 plus years of incredible friendship through thick and thick. We pooled our finances and have a better life together than we could have alone. Husband is "asexual" as in he's never looked at man or woman and thought "hubba hubba" and has never even had the urge to masterbate either. We love each other a lot. Just not sexually. He's told me 8 gazillion times I'm not FUGLY, but the fact no one ever even asked me out into my 40's says plenty. We used to each have our own room but now his disabled Uncle has come to share out 2 bedroom home, so we put the 2 twin beds in the biggest bedroom.

I know more people than you might guess, men and women both, who didn't have a sexual relationship until well into their 20's or even later. But I hang out with a lot of oddballs. :)

4. Sounds to me like she is proud of it and wouldn't deny it
sure wish I had been smart enough to do that, bet I would have had less regrets if I had done it for a nice amount of dough than gave it up for the lame chump I did lose it too. At least I didn't end up with a broken heart like a lot of gals do.

Each to their own, however, who are we to judge?

6. I had a girl in my science program that stripped her way thru school
she left school with a degree, a camero, and no debt. When I was managing a lab, I had a PT worker who was stripping her way thru as well. Learned that her "tips" made it possible to pick up more than one grant/ scholarship. She taught me a few moves, my husband thanks her.

11. She thinks it is weird to discuss sex graphically?
Interesting...

"I think me and the person I do it with will both profit greatly from the deal."

I bet.

She gets serious props for her entrepreneurship. Curious how it will all play out. $3.7 million is no small investment.

12. Consenting adults
Is there a problem here? This girl wishes to profit in a big way from the desires of wealthy men. Make a quick score and go with her life. Who is he victim here? Where is the crime? I got no problems with it (as long as she is truly acting of her own free will).

14. I have NO issue with the rights of these consenting adults to go through with this sale.
Edited on Tue Jan-13-09 11:27 AM by FedUpWithIt All
I nearly wish i had thought of it. It's brilliant.

I also have the right to an opinion of the affair since it was made a public sale. I just think the whole thing is rather amusing. The fact that she described the men, who explained their sexual preferences graphically, as weirdos is funny to me. When one buys a car it is customary to discuss how it runs and what type of shape the transmission is in. The sale described in the OP is no different. She is selling sex and some of the potential buyers might wish to discuss and get a feel for the type of sex she is offering. I would say that at a price tag of $3.7 mil that questioning the product is very much the potential consumer's right. Even if it is off putting for the seller.

13. I've never understood the value placed on virginity.
If I'm going to dance with someone, I'd prefer a partner who knows how to dance.
