4. I have some thoughts on this.. it is almost the same thing Bush Sr
did to Clinton, when Bush Sr, ordered 25,000 into Somalia, in December just weeks before Clinton took office. Clinton has always taken the heat for that, but it was Bush the elder who sent the troops to Somalia.

Whether you look at it as good, bad or indifferent. It was an operation set up to hamstring Clinton from the get go

Whew, we are all in a wait and see mode.

13. It never ceases to amaze me how people can
fool themselves by refusing to look at the truth. You are right, it does take a modicum of attention, most seem unable to do that.

10. You don't think we've had covert forces in Iran for years?
Especially after 9-11, one would have to be incredibly naive not to think that we would have at least some forces on the ground in Iran. I've often heard that there is no substitute for HUMINT (human intelligence), makes sense that Bush would want to know what Iran was up to.

Fuck if I know. Maybe we have had spies in Iran for a few years now, and maybe they're telling the administration that Iran really isn't a threat. Could explain why we haven't attacked them, and why we've held Israel back as well.

11. If they're announcing it, they're already doing it.
That has been the pattern with these guys.

WTF is with the timing, anyway? Does he plan to overthrow Iran in the next 10 days?

16. Call me a lunatic but I believe Bush is happier than a pig
in shit over Israel's bombing of Gaza (obviously, he called to cancel Rice's vote on the ceasefire) and probably has his mutant fingers crossed it will sink that Iranian relief boatm or try to tie Iran in with all this somehow, and he will get to use Cheney's bunker-busters on Iran. I'd put nothing past them ..... nothing at all.

17. Shit, we've had special forces in Iran for years, stirring up shit with the ethnic minorities near
the Iraq border -- and, incidentally, in the areas of Iran's most productive oil fields. Where the hell has CNN been? We've had coverts ops going on in Iran ever since the Iraq Occupation.

19. Do you know what this means?
the story is out, true or not, that the Iranians were going to take a relief ship to help the Palestinian people. Obviously, this would not be very popular with the present US government or the Israeli government. This seems like a reaction to that story? Is this only going to make matters worse before Obama and the Democrats take over the responsibility of governing? It seems to be inflaming an already volatile situation between Israel and the Hamas government of Gaza, Palestine. Happy New Year Everybody !!

21. This is like a nightmare that just won't end and you can't wake up from.
"authorizing"? It would be a miracle if they weren't already up to their necks in clandesting ops in Iran. This just makes it official AND leaves it on the White House front step like a burning bag full of horsecrap.

There is just no end to this stuff. Obama had better wake up and drop that bipartizanship stuff out of his playbook. This is the time to crush these people like the despicable bugs they are.

But hey, this is just MY opinion. I could be right.
