1. What if they waved the magic pen and ALL credit card debt vanished?
I know it sounds goofy as hell (and I realize your OP was supposed to be silly) but why couldn't they just wipe the slate of unsecured debts for all Americans? I'd THINK that would do a lot to stimulate spending, but it'd probably piss off all the guys who are trying to make money off the credit card industry...

Anybody--can you explain to me why this is not possible to do? What am I not seeing here?
