12. I'm sure there are less favorable accounts written about it. this is fomr Wikipedia
After Bush's promotion to Lieutenant Junior Grade on August 1, the San Jacinto commenced operations against the Japanese in the Bonin Islands. Bush piloted one of four Grumman TBM Avenger aircraft from VT-51 that attacked the Japanese installations on Chichijima.<6> His crew for the mission, which occurred on September 2, 1944, included Radioman Second Class John Delaney and Lieutenant Junior Grade William White.<4> During their attack, the Avengers encountered intense anti-aircraft fire; Bush's aircraft was hit by flak<7> and his engine caught on fire.<4> Despite his plane being on fire, Bush completed his attack and released bombs over his target, scoring several damaging hits.<4> With his engine afire, Bush flew several miles from the island, where he and one other crew member on the TBM Avenger bailed out of the aircraft;<7> the other man's parachute did not open.<4> It has not been determined which man bailed out with Bush<4> as both Delaney and White were killed as a result of the battle.<7> Bush waited for four hours in an inflated raft, while several fighters circled protectively overhead until he was rescued by the lifeguard submarine USS FinbackTemplate:WP Ships USS instances

3. Youngest fighter pilot in WWII
Don't know if that qualified him to be a "hero".

4. He actually was
This is #41 we're talking about... he was the youngest US Navy pilot in World War II, flew a fighter jet at the age of 19, and (unlike John McCain) didn't get shot down five times. Regardless of the elitist globalist turd he became as a politician, his war record is exemplary.

9. He bailed on his crew .....
Typical rich fuck trait ...... "I'm saving my rich ass ..... you plebes can suck hind tit."

Jack Kennedy was an exception to this rule.

11. Let's say for a moment that GHWB is a war hero
Edited on Sat Jan-10-09 11:44 AM by Solly Mack
How does that change anything about him? How does excuse any of his actions while VP and President? (and at the CIA)

Because that's what people try and do...to frame - to shape - to redirect - to construct a story that removes the bad by proclaiming, "Hero!", as if that somehow magically mitigates, or erases, all the bad.

The "Bush Legacy Project" is doing the same thing with the son.

"He kept us safe!" "There have no more attacks!"

That's what they want people to hear and believe so they won't listen and look too closely.
