FROM PROTEST TO RESISTANCE
Well it has become abundantly clear, the US congress will NOT end this war, they wil continue funding this atrocity against humanity until there is a MASSIVE movement for it's end.Not in two years, not if certain goals aren't met, not if that slimeball fascist commander and chief orders it, NOW. Our local peace group is going to be trained by Creative Voices of Non-VIolence to begin civil disobedience in our area. We have had the congressional sit ins (made famous when Obey went off on a soldiers mother) and some anarchists have already stepped things up drastically.

1. Then perhaps
the problem was not with the Republicans after all? It is a huge disappointment.

2. Activists shut down the war machine
http://www.workers.org/2007/us/pittsburgh-0322/

“Shut down the war machine” is a good, popular, militant slogan—but it’s easier said than done. On March 2, however, the Pittsburgh Organizing Group successfully halted operations for the day at the National Robotics Engineering Center, described as “a largely Pentagon-funded venture of Carnegie Mellon University that has become a world leader in warfare robotics.”

The POG web site relayed the following account:

“Two actions were organized for the purpose of creating a barricade. The first was a non-publicized effort by four affinity groups to barricade the main entrances through the use of lockboxes (long pipes through which people’s hands are locked together), u-locks, and a tripod. These groups deployed at 5 a.m., before police were on the scene. This action alone blocked all vehicular access to NREC and severely disrupted the possibility of pedestrian traffic.

“The second piece of the action was a publicly announced 7:30 a.m. march from Friendship Park to NREC, which also intended to barricade the facility. As expected, a large number of police were deployed at various locations to ensure the march would not be able to successfully create a barricade.

3. I agree with you. Anti-war pacifists have no other choice now
than civil disobedience. I hope the movement spreads large and wide. I don't think the Bushistas can declare martial law with most of our military elsewhere, unless they contract a rent-an-army under Blackwater. That would be like the SS in Nazi Germany. However, wouldn't Bush have to get funding for them too from Congress?

4. LOL
well that doesn't comfort me. CONgress has no problem funding death and murder so I am sure they would fund something like that.
