Bluesman Sam Taylor dies in New York at age 74
Edited on Wed Jan-07-09 06:29 PM by panader0
Sam was big in Tucson for ten years. He was born in Alabama, moved to New York, became a boxer, then joined the Air Force and then on to Venice, California where he took off as a bluesman. He moved to Tucson to clean up from drugs (why Tucson for that?). He played regularly at local blues clubs in Tucson before having to move back to NY because of failing health. He wore a captains hat when he played, and always gave a great show.. Adios Sam.
Sorry, no link, read it in the tucson paper today www.azstarnet.com in the metro section
