At 7:30 Gupta says France is "drowning in taxes" and implies Moore didn't mention high French taxes in the film Sicko.

At 7:50 Michael says "that's my line".

Gupta is utterly speechless, will not address it.

The microexpressions on Moore and Gupta at those moments are interesting too..

Gupta knew he'd been pwn3d, it is beautiful, and Moore knew he had him too, which makes it even better.

Edited to add: I forgot to mention that the exchange began with Gupta admitting he had misquoted Moore the day before, the whole thing is worth watching.

3. Wow, Gupta is owned by someone
His facial expressions showed fear, anxiety & even guilt as Moore talked; then responding w/defensiveness & distractions. I don't trust this guy.

5. You're better at it than I am..
I only really picked up the moment I mentioned, Gupta grimaced like he'd had a poke in the nether regions.

He's quick, smooth and facile, I don't like him.

6. Smarmy
And when Moore challenged him on the "fudged facts", Gupta ducked & weaved & couldn't come up w/one. I don't know if he was paid by the health ins. industry to do a hit piece, or if he's just like many doctors who prefer the private health care system. But he lied in that piece & he knows it. This little exchange might've faded from memory by now, but it lives on on Youtube to back up Gupta's critics. That's one of the great things about the Internets!

9. I'm thinking it's all about the disparity in income between the U.S. and those countries with U.H.C.
I don't know the exact numbers, but got the impression that the government paid doctors interviewed for the film "Sicko" were making an "upper-middle-class" salary and not the $400K+/year that our specialists aspire to. However, the docters interviewed for the movie also seemed to be happy, had no student loan debt, family lives and, because they didn't spend half their days doing paperwork and fighting with insurance companies for payment, they were able to see far more patients each day.

We need a advocate who practices medicine in the trenches and has made some real accomplishments. Being a talking head, feel-good spokesmodel for his corporate sponsers isn't enough. Anyone remember a certain Arabian horse judge?

8. thanks - perfect example
#1 - he didn't have his facts, or he had a preplanned agenda
#2 - when he was proven wrong - he dug his heals in

Together these show that this is exactly the WRONG person for the job. Everyone makes mistakes, its inexcusable that (in this position) that he tries to save HIS ass.
