Bush makes last-minute appointments
Posted: 08:10 PM ET

(CNN) — President Bush made another round of last-minute appointments Tuesday, giving 45 aides, supporters and others a parting gift as he leaves office: presidential appointments to boards and councils, with terms lasting three to six years after he leaves office.

The full list as released by the White House after the jump includes attorney general Michael Mukasey, deputy national security advisor Elliott Abrams, and Homeland Security secretary Michael Chertoff.

17. Maybe Obama can continue the Bush/Cheney rules of imperial presidency
just long enough to undo Bush's appointments.

New rules

1. EVERYONE appointed by Bush submits a letter of resignation.

2. The new president chooses which to accept.

3. All the Bush appointments go away.

Or else make their lives so miserable they'd rather just quit. Move all their offices to the basement bathroom then turn the lights out. If that doesn't work, overflow the toilets. On second thought, Bush appointments are too well steeped in excrement. They probably wouldn't even notice.

7. Careful. We have all seen how Bushiganda twists reality like mozzarrella cheese.
I'd like to think history will expose him fully for the Worst President Ever, and yet somehow after the last 8 and really 28 years, I cannot believe it until I see it.

8. Like the rest of us, can they not be permanently laid off?
Might as well collect a little unemployment insurance in addition to the pensions and other perks that will follow them.

No outgoing president, especially this idiot should be allowed to make last minute decisions that will cause problems for the incoming one. What else will **** pull out of his hat? Lets see, starting with the pardons.........

10. Why he should have been impeached
because he still has the ability to hurt this country for years after he's been in office with these types of moves.

12. certainly there are pernicious acts by Bush in these appointments
But, the three dogs you cited - attorney general Michael Mukasey, deputy national security advisor Elliott Abrams, and Homeland Security secretary Michael Chertoff - are to be "Members of the United States Holocaust Memorial Council"

I think we'll survive those.

14. Survival isn't the question
It's perception

Abrams helped to support death squads and was involved in Iran Contra.

Chertoff and his DHS are a Himmler wannabe and Gestapo Lite.

Mukasey who told the ABA that just because someone breaks the law doesn't mean that a crime has been committed.

And these men will now sit on the US Holocaust Council, which helps to oversee the US Holocaust Memorial Museum.

They'll definitely add to the credibility of the organization, NOT!!!

And yes I do work at the museum.

16. It's difficult to accept that those three will still be in our government...
in any capacity. They are all criminals.
