Anyone here wanna join me in NOT choosing sides?
Edited on Wed Jan-07-09 12:12 AM by HEyHEY
I figure if we choose sides in the most recent skirmish in the Middle East, we only give either side fuel to attempt to persuade us to join their cause and back them. That will lead to more violence as it helps fuel things. I know THEY will still be trying to kill each other, but at least we can maybe help them come to an eventual resolution because we haven't chosen sides. I know this is what mediators do... but maybe as the public, doing the same thing would have some kind of affect.

So, whenever anyone asks you... tell them, proudly, that you're undecided and refuse to choose. :-)

2. I'd really like to, but I'm about as pro-Israel as a person can be

Our countries have both chosen sides whether we like it or not.

Both Israel and Hamas are being monumental assholes.

5. I don't side with either one
I've had it with both sides.

Though I think the Palestinian side does not get as much chance to be heard, in the US, at least.

The ones I feel bad for are Palestinians who really just want to live their lives and don't have a way to stop Hamas personally yet get bombed by the Israelis as if they could easily have controlled these other people.

7. I feel bad for us that didn't vote for the shrub or buy his lame fairy tales
but I wouldn't pretend elections don't have consequences either. In a democracy the people are the government. Them's the breaks.

I wish I could help but I'm a Zionist and fully support Israel.

6. I tried saying that the other day and got called every kind of name imaginable,
none of them good. The violence just keeps on going and going. The violence is not solving anything...AT ALL. And it is not going to. I wish someone would explain to me why they cannot share the land and integrate. Why does it make me a "nazi" to even suggest that idea? What is so wrong with the idea of integration?

8. As a Jew, I find I cannot be neutral on one issue...
...the Jewish state does indeed deserve to exist on the land where our ancestors came from.

How MUCH of the land we deserve, of course, is up for debate. But some Liberals--my God, does your cavalier attitude towards a minority claiming ownership of their place of origin extend to Native Americans in this country? Would you tell a Cherokee to suck it up and move to Norway? Would you scoff at their religious beliefs AND historical records that tells them they deserve to be RIGHT HERE?

It should also be noted that the Navajo Nation, the largest Indian reservation in America, is geographically about 3 times the size of the nation of Israel....

13. If that is all that it takes to lay claim to any land...
Than what if a people claiming they were decedent of the Canaanites and said they had settle the land first.

And if you say it was because the Israelites conquered the Canaanites then where does that end.

And if you really want to get technical, your ancestors came from Ur, which is now Iraq.
