We have worked so hard for the last eight years. We elected the unelectable. We pushed the cry for change throughout the country.

We have been the underground. We have been a pushing force and now we see these odd appointments?

Yes. Obama will be better than Bush. Torquemada would be better than Bush. But this isn't what we fought for.

I still have great faith in Barack.

But DU? Yes, we were essentially "underground" for the last eight years but geez, now that our man has won do we still need to stay beneath the ground?

He spent his whole campaign proclaiming how non-partisan he was going to be, and what a centrist he would be; so why is anyone surprised now?

4. Obama is doing fine

We can knit pick his appointments until we drive ourselves totally bat-shit crazy but when it gets down to the nitty gritty it will be mostly about him. The guy has the brains, temperament, political wisdom and vision to do fine if we have a little patience. In a few days he will be inheriting a country in an economic melt-down. I can't think of anyone at the moment who I would rather have in charge.

Yeah, maybe wishful thinking. But, I think some of the reactions at some of the picks have been just a little nuts. I mean, when has anyone ever cared so much about the frigging Surgeon General? Yes, Sanjay Gupta is a little bit of a WTF pick. I don't care for the guy. But it's just the friggin Surgeon General. He doesn't even make policy. And maybe the fact that he's such a shill might mean he'll be very good at shilling Obama's policy? That's what his job is supposed to be, after all. The Surgeon General is basically just the shiller. So, who knows, maybe it will turn out to be a good thing. And some of his other picks have been downright fantastic. Warren I objected strongly to but once the inauguration is over, I hope that little stunt will be relegated to the dustbin of history.
