Yes Pecan- Ben & Jerry's teams up with Common Cause

Dear Beaverhausen,

We've got BIG news. And it's pretty sweet.

For the month of January, Ben & Jerry's is renaming its butter pecan ice cream flavor to "Yes Pecan!" and donating a portion of the proceeds from scoop shop sales of the new flavor to the Common Cause Education Fund!

We're honored to be working with Ben & Jerry's to celebrate the spirit of activism and the newfound optimism that government can work for the common good.

Here's how you can help:

1. Find your local Ben & Jerry's scoop shop and get a cone of "Yes Pecan!" Proceeds will benefit our efforts to help citizens make their voices heard in the political process.

2. Join us on Facebook! Ben & Jerry's is also donating $1 for each person who signs up on our Facebook "cause" during the month of January or who donates to the Common Cause Education Fund, up to $10,000!

3. Tell your friends about these easy (and delicious!) ways to help Common Cause. Forward this message to your friends, and if you're on Facebook, invite them to join our cause.

...the pun only works with the Northeast regional pronounciation -- "PEE-can." Otherwise, the original phrase would have to sound like "Yes, w'CON."

21. Back when B & J's first had the contest, I called my local Kroger (TX)

and asked if they would stock "Yes PeCan" the man thought I was NUTS.

Frozen Food Manager: "Oh, you mean Yes PeCon!"

Me: Well yes, I know we pronounce it PeCon, but it is called Yes PeCan, in honor of Barack Obama's Yes we can theme."

He went on vacation during the next week and I never followed up on it upon his return. He did however stock Stephen Colbert's Americone Dream for me, which I wasn't impressed with at all.

after all they got kicked out of decision making process when it got sold by the BOD's.

I usually make my own Ice Cream. YUM

A really quick "ice cream" is frozen fruit, a little sugar and milk and blend in blender until creamy.
