I just ain't feelin' the love ........
.... in the waning days of busholini ......

.... these motherfuckers are going to walk. And laugh.

.... the treasury is an empty vault. The hinges are sprung, and the lock's guts are hanging out.

.... the bus headed into town has a new crew in charge and a shiny paint job, but the tires are retreads.

.... as old fires are just starting to lower to a smolder, they set new ones. A mushroom cloud would not surprise me.

.... the social safety net has holes throughout.

.... our compact with those asked to serve has been a joke. The VA is falling apart from underfunding and homeless vets are simply ignored.

.... most of the children have been left behind.

.... the rich get richer and the corporate giants amass more power. They're now almost untouchable.

.... these motherfuckers are going to walk. And laugh.

.... and NO ONE who actually can seems in any hurry to stop them.

.... nope ...... I'm not feelin' the love.

The strategy seems to be to go back to a slightly less painful time without changing what was wrought.

13. There is hope.
Edited on Sun Jan-04-09 11:39 PM by Gregorian
Bush and his gang's trespasses will be healed, mostly. Not the dead. Not the injured. For some, there will be no hope of recovery. But everything else. It may not be nice, but we can turn it around.

I try to be hopeful. I even deleted most of what I posted so as to come across as hopeful. There is something much worse than Bush around the corner. And I'm full of dread and hopelessness. But that's another thread. Let's work together to open the eyes and minds of those who don't see we're in this together.

I would like to share something that happened yesterday. I went to the chainsaw shop. With my Obama sweatshirt on. Oh man. But what happened was almost miraculous. The man who works there is older. He came from Mexico as a child. He was poor. And he is excited about Obama. That was my first surprise. Then we started talking about how he'll make things change. I was talking about logging, and clearcutting, and one thing lead to another, about greed. And he said that he would rather have a friend than a hundred dollar bill. That line was like an entire seminar. And Obama knows poor. And humililty. That's all.

16. Ya know ........
.... I try to be hopeful. I really do. But watching the crap of **just the last week** is hard. They have mere days left and it is unrelenting.

Then this Blago crap. And the ineffectual Fitzgerald.

Richardson's bagging it today got to me.

Poppy on Faux extolling that even-worse-then-the-first-two son of his, J.E.B., as a great man and a good choice for president. And the firm knowledge that it is actually possible.

I'm not happy with Kaine as DNC chair.

Its hard to be hopeful when it is so unrelenting.

What financial shit will hit the news tomorrow? How many companies will go out of business or offshore and strand even more of us?

Its hard .....

Please, I'm not making light of things. I totally hear you. I have my own stories. But I just found this video, and it may not seem to have even a remote relationship to this discussion. It doesn't. But, what it does have is spirit. See, this is what I have spent my entire life searching for. Eclectic, creative, unique, human brilliance. The essence of what we are. Oh, this is going to be a letdown. I guess I'm just saying that where there's life, there's...disco?

What's life for anyways?

I was a roofer once. It was July. I had a guy's roof off. And it rained. I found out he was a very wealthy guy with IBM, and this was just his country house. I stood out there and thought I was going to die. He came up to me laughing and said, "Life's a joke". My worker just got more work, doing sheetrock repair.

14. Karma will come, not in the way it should have with justice from the
very government they chose to destroy, but in unexpected ways that will surprise us and trip them up and those who let them get away with it. Watch and see. The unexpected will bring justice after all and it probably will right the wrongs our nation has done in the past before the BFEE even thought up its evil as well.

Edited on Mon Jan-05-09 11:29 AM by Jennicut
Seriously, is Obama pro-torture? Is he utterly incompetent and has to have his VP run things for him? Does he ruin every good thing he comes in contact with? Did his Daddy set his life course for him? Really, Obama's life history is nothing like Bushes so why will he be anything like him? All president's have their good and bad sides but none are truly retreads if each other.

31. He is not a retread of Clinton either. No two presidents are alike.
All presidents are different in their own way. Some have good qualities, some have bad. Obama is nothing like Clinton in terms of not dealing with situations, asking everyone an opinion and then finally coming to a solution. Clinton was a procrastinator and Obama is more into quickly getting a concise opinion and that to me means more how they will govern that in any appointments made. Politically, Obama has cast votes that are very liberal. Really, can we see what happens in the first year before we decide to kill ourselves out of depression or is that too hard?

There's an argument to be made that by doing nothing he will be supporting them. It certainly is worth thinking about.

Clinton stopped pretty much all legal actions stemming from the Iran/Contra crimes and look what it got us. The same recylcled criminals.

Why the Dems are playing nice is beyond me. The Republicans never do. They've been saying and doing outlanding, disgusting, insulting crap for 14 years. It's long past time they got shoved out of Washington, because their helping only those who help them is fucking up the entire country. Our children will pay for the stupid wars they caused.

Bush and Cheney don't need to go to the Hague. They need to go to an American court, to be tried, convicted, and jailed for treason.

47. And the world looks just the same
And history ain't changed
'Cause the banners, they all flown in the last war

I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around me
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
No, no!

I'll move myself and my family aside
If we happen to be left half alive
I'll get all my papers and smile at the sky
For I know that the hypnotized never lie

Do ya?

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

There's nothing in the street
Looks any different to me
And the slogans are replaced, by-the-bye
And the parting on the left
Is now the parting on the right
And the beards have all grown longer overnight

I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around me
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again
Don't get fooled again
No, no!

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

Meet the new boss
Same as the old boss
