Crawford is interviewed by BBC while in London
Omaha film historian Bruce Crawford has just returned from the London home of special-effects creator Ray Harryhausen, where they both were interviewed for the BBC about the death of science-fiction expert Forrest Ackerman.
Ackerman came to Omaha for Crawford's screenings of "King Kong" and "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea."
While at Harryhausen's palatial home in Kensington, Crawford lunched with Tim Burton and Johnny Depp. He also talked with Fergus McClelland, child star of the classic film "A Boy Ten Feet Tall."
Crawford said Harryhausen has just released a new book, "A Century of Stop Motion Animation." The BBC recently rebroadcast Crawford's documentary about movie composer Bernard Herrmann.
While in London, Crawford also was interviewed by British author Mike Hankin, who is writing a book series about Harryhausen's films, "Master of the Majicks." The first was recently published.
