7. So when does Norm concede for the good of Minnesota?
Or doesn't his own advice apply to himself?

14. Opti-scan seems to have been less than "correct"...
Paper ballots, hand-counted (In-place), then matched to the total ballots given out, and both matched to the number signed in..

Totals for senate/house/pres listed on paper, and the whole process videoed..

THEN run the ballots thru the opti scan for the local & state races..

If the handcount varies from the opti-scan, it's done again for the top 3 races..until 2 out of 3 counts match.

That's the ONLY way to really "know" who won.. Too many ballots to count?..more voting venues, more paid helpers..

16. Normie has filed a challenge to allowing this count
and I guess they'll decide on Monday whether to accept it or not..

My guess is not..

I think Al just won:)

20. Not sure what you mean. These ballots were never scanned at all, they were rejected absentee ballots
that had never even been taken out of their mail-in envelopes until today. It was determined that election judges had discarded these ballots in error. Today was the first and only time these ballots were unsealed and subsequently hand-counted.

Actually, one thing this recount has shown is that the discrepency rate between the Opti-scan totals and hand count totals is something like 1 or 2 votes per 100 thousand. In other words, the scanners are really pretty reliable.

21. reliable except for when it's super close
and I know today's count was for ballots that had been excluded.. I was referencing the election night counting procedure..

we rely too much on machine counting, when we have PLENTY of people who would love to earn some money and who can count to 20..:)

22. And the scanners do provide us with a paper trail when we need one
I think we can feel pretty confident about election outcomes in Minnesota. Even more so when we have a SOS like Mark Ritchie - I'm not so sure I'd feel so good if Kiffmeyer were still in that office.
