Doesn't make any difference if it is Iraq, Afghanistan or the West Bank its all the same,

Occupation not only costs life and limbs. It robs you of your dignity too. Think about having soldiers from another country over here telling us where we can and can't go. Or turning on your drinking water faucet and it looks like mud coming out and then you look over at the occupiers compounds and they are splashing around in huge swimming pools full of cool clear water. Think about that. How would you react?

Or watching soldiers patrolling your street corners smoking and joking with your wives and daughters as they passed? Wouldn't that make you feel great?

Reminds me of an old Bruce Cockburn song.

1. this is so very true, and a point often lost on most in the US
who seem to think that having the US occupying other countries is just a-okay, because all we're ever doing is 'liberating' them.

When in fact, ANY occupying force makes life a living hell for the local civilians.

2. We've never been occupied, except by our own federal government.

3. Our Founding Fathers understood this
Which is why they put in the Amendment about citizens not having to house soldiers in their houses. The British practice was to house troops in colonist's homes.
