Obama seeks bipartisanship whilst RNC plans major attacks
RNC plans an all-out war against Obama, rather than swallowing their pride and pitching in and helping a nation in a time of crisis! Why do people even vote for those thugs?

1. and guess who will end up looking like the assholes in 2010....
the republicans planning the attacks. RNC is so vulnerable in 2010 that they could end up losing another 5-6 seats in the US Senate.

2. You're right Lynne. I heard on NPR, the other day, that we haven't
seen unemployment figures like this since the early 80's. If the Repubs stand in the way of the stimulus, I think we might actually see a backlash like never seen before. You would think that with Obama's approval numbers, even before taking office, they would be itching to work with him. I think we may witness the Republican Party, in it's current form, go the way of the Whigs, and it won't be a minute too soon.

5. Let's put it this way - if people are out of jobs and unable to pay for the basic needs
the media won't be able to persuade them of anything. It's only when people are fluxed with money that they become complacent

12. People were willing to overlook Obama's name, McCain and Palin screeching
"SOCIALIST!" as loud as they could, and the Bill Ayers and Rev. Wright shit because of the economy. It's a powerful motivator when choosing a candidate--and the Republicans continue to underestimate just how powerful it is.

7. One of the GOP's utter shortcomings is that they are not prepared to
compete in a multicultural America. With each election cycle they are being reduced to a Southern party, and that just won't cut it nationally. Their outreach to African Americans has been a miserable failure, and believe me they aren't addressing that problem by passing out "Magic Negro" cd's. And Hispanics, who were once with them on the social issues, now despise them for their anti immigrant bigotry.

Perhaps I'm naive, but I have hope for the future. Of course, the Democratic party is absorbing all the disaffected Republicans, and conservative Dems, and the struggle for the soul of the Democratic party is sure to heat up.

13. Fortunately, I just read somewhere...HuffPost, I think...that
more than 50% of Americans prefer getting their news from the internet now. That is a real big headache for the Jackals of Journalism

6. Obama and his surrogates have got to
get out ahead now and frame the debate. They have to hammer home major points ad nauseum.
If they let those Rethugs frame it, they will have a hard time. I might be reaching my hand out
but while I was doing it, I would be stomping on their feet and cracking their shins.

8. Mr. Potter's Party just closed the banks to millions of home owners and
stole Christmas and jobs from millions. The country club party has worked diligently to strip educational opportunity from the townspeople while closing the factories and mom and pop stores. How many decades did those who went through the Great Depression remember its pain and deprivation? How many decades did people remember the suffering and deprivation of the war years? Mr. Potter will be hanging out at the country club polishing his clubs and crying in his cocktails for some time to come, I think.

9. I think there will be a split between the party. Those that want to work for the betterment of the
nation and those that don't want to give up the petty partisan bickering (we have seen a similar split in our own party). I am hopefully that those that want to continue the bickering will end up in history's dust bin.

10. Absolutely!
I believe this to be a watershed event. All the cards are on the table now for all who will look, to see. (Good luck with that, America. Turn off your teevees and get hip to reality.)

We're not red states and blue states, we're all one country. Of course the republican will recognize that and work with us for the betterment of the country.

Or maybe the republicans will do what they always do, which is to fiercely oppose anything they don't like.

There is no such thing as bipartisanship, there is only winning. Unfortunately the republicans seem to understand this far better than we do.

16. This fits right in with what Molly Ivins said about Republicans...
They don't want to govern; they want to rule.
