2. yeah I was in Illinios in the late 1980's and early 1990's
and he doesn't look all that different now then he did then. I would love to be in his shape in 30 years.

3. I don't like Blagojevich but he's right
It is his responsibility to appoint the Senator. The appointment is perfectly legal.

12. I wish the morons on GEM$NBC
would simply state the rules but then the story would go away so don't expect that.

14. Agreed.
The level of campaign funding to Blago is a bit of a concern, however.

18. I know some people work through cancer treatment, but he seems kind of impaired
Is it chemo brain, steroids, blood loss, fatigue and nausea, pain meds? I've had cancer and people respond differently to treatment, and mine wasn't mets, but even then my emotions were way out of whack for a good year, and I've sure seen it in others. I just wonder if this guy's being taken advantage of and being used as a human shield by a white guy who wants to shut up his opponents by accusing them (preposterously) of racism and insensitivity to the dying.

11. Bobby Rush is kind of threatening the Senate
Dems if they refuse to seat Roland Burris because he's African American, saying there are no AA's in the Senate. Rush also said will be taking this to DC.

16. Slick Move...Elvis
Burris is very qualified to fill President Obama's seat and wish this had been done within days of the election, but c'est la vie. Elvis looks like he's trying to split the state party, get them chasing this nomination rather than pursue impeachment and tangle it all up in court.

I'm a bit confused in what and why Burris went for this. The issue appears to be losing the lone black Senate seat (seems like only Illinois can elect African-Americans to the Senate) and Burris would be a steady, loyal vote (he'd do what Durbin tells him what to do), but with Elvis' taint, all the years this man fought on the state levels (the first black elected to statewide office) what President Obama has done on the national one.

The Illinois Democrats have made an even bigger mess of this thing...they could have stripped this power from Blago but they just gave him another bargaining chip...stretching out this fiasco for months to come.

What's gauling is to listen to Illinois repugnican...whose corruption has cost them any statewide office and have blood on their hands from their past scandals. Their hopes is to run stealthy neo-con Mark Kirk. But even with all this limelight, ignorant corporate media pontificating and whatever messes Blago makes, the GOOP is in poor shape to run any statewide campaign right now.
