It's time to end poverty permanently.
All it takes is one bill and one signature to end American poverty forever.

1. I like the part about "separating employment from survival".
This way, the economy doesn't have to come to a dead stop. This way, more people could actually start businesses or get an education. This way, there'd be no evictions or forclosures. This way, we'd be independent of job offshoring once and for all.

This way, things would . . . I don't know, IMPROVE?

But no. Let's piss it away to billionaires so they can have luxury items and portfolios full of wealth, our military so they can shoot people that never attacked or threatened us (forever) and corporations so they can fire their workers, hire Chinese slaves and save their precious bottom line. Let's keep propping up a system that's turned this country (and every country that it's been tried in) into an economic landfill. SURELY that's the better plan :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: :eyes:

3. Can't do that, it will never happen, you will cause great national distress if you even tried

For you always have the poor with you, but you will not always have me. Matthew 26:11

The American Talibangelicals would have an absolute fit if you tried to eliminate poverty, because you would be attempting to make a liar out of Jesus and we can't have that!

:eyes:

(Sadly, I have known conservative Christians who parroted this one verse -- never mind that it is out of context -- to explain how welfare programs, minimum wage and public health care are in direct opposition to God's Will and therefore tools of Satan.)

4. Religious insanity.
I don't think a majority of Americans are quite *that* crazy.

The main obstacle to this is simple selfishness.
