Poll question: What is the worst element of the bush legacy?
I w-a-y ran out of room with only ten choices, so I combined several things.

If you have an "Other," feel free to reply with the skinny.

1. July 6, 1946.
The day that rat bastard was born should be a National Day of Mourning.

6. you may well be right.
Clinton let Poppy skate on theft, treason and other crimes in the name of "looking forward."

I don't think Obama will even pause to rationalize letting junior skate.

5. I voted 9/11 because it was used to excuse so many other things but overall
I'd say something about a loss of the separation of powers, checks and balances, etc. The SC put him in office starting all that off too.

They all are so egregious on their face, but also have frightening long-term ramifications.

11. "democrats" didn't put up much of a fight over anything.
not two stolen elections, not an illegal invasion and occupation, not the rape of the Constitution, not the class warfare...

10. The "War on Terror" (in general)
is essentially a compilation of the Bush (mis-)administration's "greatest hits" in terms of the damage inflicted on our country, our constitution, and the rest of the world. Just about everything else listed here has either been a product of it or its precursor (i.e. Bush v. Gore)

17. Just like the entire (mis-)administration
Edited on Mon Dec-29-08 12:26 PM by butlerd
The last 8 long years have been one long advertising campaign to get us to believe and accept things that we refused to accept even under Nixon, Reagan, et. al and were (previously) not even advocated by any credible individuals. Unfortunately, there were few individuals in Congress willing to stand up and denounce what the Bush (mis-)administration and the GOP were trying to foist on us.

14. Difficult priorities. life /death/ vs class warfare..
Bush's lies to get us into an unnecessary war.. Or the economic decimation of our people. Close calls. Guess 4000 unnecessary death's wins out.. Even if the economic rape of our people will eventually bring about our ability to support Bush's war machine.

16. George W. Bush is the culmination of the Bush empire
starting with Prescott Bush in 1945 to G.H.Bush and ending with G.W.Bush probably the dumbest and the one that may end their hold on the government(at least I hope so)
