United Mountain Defense Promises Independent Testing at Spill Site - High Levels of Arsenic Found
Despite the EPA finding high levels of arsenic at the Kingston spill site, TVA officials yesterday told 300 residents the water is still "safe to drink". It appears that TVA might have gotten away with this had it not been for Chris Irwin, one of the activists from United Mountain Defense, who took on the CEO of TVA and promised independent testing of the site.

“This is not snow, this is not safe,” he said of the fly ash. “Every one of you has been seriously injured. … This is one of the largest ecological disasters in North American history.”

He then turned to Kilgore and drew scattered applause and cheers by asking: “When are you going to resign, Mr. Kilgore? This happened on your watch.”

There was nothing about this environmental disaster on the front page of yesterday's News Sentinel, the largest major paper in the E. Tn. area affected by this disaster.

2. Would that constitute a "heavy metal" ? This is the only thing
mentioned at yesterday's meeting:

"several heavy metals have also been found in quantities “slightly above drinking water standards.”

6. "Heavy metal" is really a meaningless term, what you should be asking about are toxic metals
Or toxic anything I suppose, but don't let them hang you up on chasing something that has no good definition. "Heavy metals is a term of art, not of science. Focus on what will harm you.

We will be destroyed by these sociopaths unless WE recognize that they are literally and actually - mentally damaged, AND ACT on that knowledge.

4. Rec'd. This is crap. Why should anyone believe the TVA? Have
they done any definitive studies on the safety of the water, or is this all lip service? :grr:
