RNC candidate distributes controversial Obama song

RNC candidate Chip Saltsman’s Christmas greeting to committee members includes a music CD with lyrics from a song called “Barack the Magic Negro,” first played on Rush Limbaugh’s popular radio show.

Saltsman, a personal friend of conservative satirist Paul Shanklin, sent a 41-track CD along with a note to national committee members.

“I look forward to working together in the New Year,” Saltsman wrote. “Please enjoy the enclosed CD by my friend Paul Shanklin of the Rush Limbaugh Show.”

The CD, called “We Hate the USA,” lampoons liberals with such songs as “John Edwards’ Poverty Tour,” “Wright place, wrong pastor,” “Love Client #9,” “Ivory and Ebony” and “The Star Spanglish banner.”

Several of the track titles, including “Barack the Magic Negro,” are written in bold font.

4. From a cynical viewpoint its great. They will never be a national party again
as long as these crazies dominate the party.

The only one to worry about is one that SEEMS normal, personable, somewhat intelligent - like Huckabee.

6. Another reason I become physically ill when black republicans
sit up on tv talking about how great the republican party is. We have plenty of racist dems but they know enough not to make songs about it.

7. Good
I would rather the GOP be open about what they really think than try to hide it. That bothers me alot more, when they try to 'reach out' to hispanics and black voters but you really know deep down inside they'd throw them under the bus for a snickers.

9. I agree - let them expose their hatred, racism, bigotry and
divisiveness. They will turn off more and more people, as we saw with this last election. The GOP will eventually be composed of nothing but white, "Christian" haters and that bunch isn't big enough to carry national elections.

21. What do you mean?
That's just the problem. Republicans freely and openly talk like this between and amongst themselves. But nobody and I mean nobody in the popular media dares breathe a word of it in a column or before an open microphone. Republicans know they can say the most vile, hateful things imaginable and they'll never be called on it, never have to explain it. It's a tacit "Hey, it's all a joke, can't you take a joke? Doncha have a sense of humor?"

“Nothing shows a man’s character more than what he laughs at.”

I don't think any are laughing
but many are observing someone's character

This reminds me of Larissa's report from the national Christian Fundamentalist convention or whatever it is they call themselves. She reported that it was full of racist crap.

24. More than fair question.
Sometimes it's the best way to take the fire out from under someone. If one reaches out, and finds only derision, then the divisive and mean-spirited are revealed.

Rarely is reaching out a bad idea, especially if no actual commitment to an unfriendly agenda is made.

So far, Obama's choice has only put someone in the spotlight who is failing in it.

22. Video
I just watched the video on youtube. Yeah, I don't know how these black republicans do it. Like a previous poster said, there are plenty of racist within the democratic party, but atleast the party leaders don't go out of their way to humiliate a large voting block.

Republicans know that they will never get a sizable amount of the black vote, so they don't care, but with antics like this, I don't know how they are going to attract hispanics to their tent. They really just don't get it.

Pete Wilson circulating the racist poem attacking hispanics and immigrants in the California legislature a decade or so ago.

Why do people feed themselves on hate?

You have to have a certain degree of modesty
and affection for people to be funny. Classic
example Rodney Dangerfield

Republicans are just too mean spirited and
egotistical to be funny.

Dennis Miller is the text book example.
