Merry Christmas Y'all
May your hearts be full of joy, and may love light the darkness in the year to come.

I'm off to bed, amazed that the wrapping I've performed can only be described as Mildly Gawdawful.

Goodnight!

:grouphug: :loveya: :D

5. A Christmas Story
Oh, SCE, have a wonderful Christmas and one fine New Year.

I will cherish the Peace, and the Quiet, of these next few days.

I will be spending this Christmas Eve and Day alone, for the first time in my life.

But I am not complaining, for I have spent other Christmases under less than perfect circumstances.

As a matter of fact, I cannot remember ever feeling more at Peace than I do today.

I would like to share a Christmas Story with you.

I grew up on vast acreage (144 sections) with my Mother. We had no money, and we grew, killed or caught just about everything we needed to survive.

But Christmases were special.

For one thing, it was the only day of the year when we allowed no worry or work.

A few weeks before Christmas, my Mother would make the drive into Town, go to the Sears, Roebuck Catalog Store and pick up a couple of Christmas Catalogs for us.

Man, I would spend hours with that thing, trying to pick out the perfect group, maybe five or six, of presents to give to my Mother.

I would cut out the pictures and write little essays about why I selected those presents and what I hope my Mother would do with them.

My Mother would do the same.

Then we would wrap them in paper and different stuff that we would find during the course of the year.

And we had The Iron, this ancient old wood-stove iron, which had come to Texas in 1630 with our clan. We would give it to each other, back and forth, on alternating Christmases. That gifting would usually be the high point of the day.

Looking back, those were probably the finest Christmases I have ever experienced.

Let's make the most of this Christmas, LyricMan.

And every Day after.

Peace,
Tom

8. Tom, a Merry Christmas to you.
Thank you for that lovely story, may the presents only matter when we give them.

I'll be in a too full house, and tonight my cousins and I will be watching some Terry Pratchett videos, laughing and trying to out-reference each other. Ah, sweet geekdom.

*puffpass*

Much Love my friend.
Bob

6. Merry Christmas, SCE! I've been wondering where you've been. Maybe I've just
somehow missed your posts lately. Good to know you're still hangin' around. Your posts are, for the lack of a word, enchanting!

9. Merry Christmas sofedupwithbush :)
I haven't posted any parodies since election eve, I've just been watching and reading. And posting LOLcats

Once the muse decides to stop vacationing and come home for a beer or two, I'll write again.
