Spending on Palin's clothes, makeup and hair made headlines during the campaign.
(CNN) — Former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin’s biggest mistake of the presidential campaign: not enough time with the media, the Alaska governor said in an interview published Monday.

“The biggest mistake made was that I could have called more shots on this: the opportunities that were not seized to speak to more Americans via media,” she told Human Events.

“I was not allowed to do very many interviews, and the interviews that I did were not necessarily those I would have chosen. But I was so thankful to have the opportunity to run with John McCain that I was not going to argue with the strategy decisions that some of his people were making regarding the media contacts.

1. Lady, you went to journalism school. J-school is all about learning to communicate using simple, clear sentences. Why the hell is it that you speak in a perpetual passive voice and use the maximum amount of words to convey even the simplest sentiment in the most convoluted constructions possible? “The biggest mistake made was that I could have called more shots on this: the opportunities that were not seized to speak to more Americans via media.” What the hell kind of sentence is THAT? I can't even diagram it!!

2. Lady, for you to say the biggest mistake the McCain campaign made is for you not to talk to the media more is like Roseanne saying the biggest mistake her manager made in her career is not booking her more singing gigs.

3. (and this is a biggie): "I want you all to know this: I didn't get to do many interviews or the kind of interviews I wanted. If I had, it could have made all the difference...But noooo, I ain't complainin', I ain't second-guessin', you're not to take a single thing I just contacted you and told you as a single criticism of the McCain team's strategy. Tell you what: let's just forget I ever said anything, OK? Don't go puttin' this in the paper or on the TV or the Internets or anything, OK?"...Um, Lady, we're not fooled. You can't "say it and not say it" with us. You said it.
