If you got a ton of snow and you have your own gas meter
i.e., you are not part of an apartment building - make sure that you remove the snow that accumulated on top of the meter. Gently, please. No shovel. I used a straw broom that gently got into many crevices and cleared the snow.

Am not sure why, but I remember this is what we were told last year during another heavy snow storm.

Sun is out, we are all the way to +9 whoopee, but this means that once the sun is out, with no cloud cover, we will quickly plunge into the -9 neighborhood.

Cheers.
