1. Why Thank You - As A Non Classifiable American During The Holidays
It must be that I am a Pagan since everyone is always trying to bin people of my ilk in one box or another.

Technically Pagan essentially just means non-Christian
So it's a pretty big tent.

today the best and most prosperous and happy Yule. Today is my niece's birthday. If the world could be as wonderful and lovely and good as her, we would be the summerlands already. Merry Yule, my friends, from a devotee of Gaia, Herne and Jesus. (Did I say eclectic?)

26. I'm in almost the same boat.
UU with Transcendentalist, Mystical and Pagan tendencies.

I'll be going to a ceremony this evening, one with a Native-American and Primal flavor.

Happy Solstice!

4. Yuletide blessings to everyone!
As the days begin to grow longer, so also will our hopes for the future.

In the Northern Hemisphere, the Winter Solstice will occur at 7:04 Eastern standard time tomorrow, December 21. For those living south of the Equator, happy Summer Solstice!

14. My usual all-purpose holiday greeting...
...which so far has not offended anyone that I've noticed, is adapted from Samantha Manson of the "Danny Phantom" cartoon and the guys of Adult Swim:

Mer-ry Christmas! Hap-py Chanukah! Have a Kickin' Kwanza! West Si-iiieeeede!

16. Happy Yule to you, too. I love the dark, while it's here.
So for me, the solstice is a celebration of that great gift that was given to me that I enjoyed so much.

Then, the next day, I love the sun, which will help us through the very cold months ahead here in Colorado.

It sounds kind of backwards, but it works for me. We'll be celebrating my son's birthday on the 21st, too. He was another wonderful gift that was given to me. The labor was long and hard but it brought forth a beautiful soul.

So we'll be making merry and rejoicing in the perfection of the dark and the light and the labor and the child, who is now a man.

Bright blessings to you, too.

22. We're bringing in the Solstice with something called
a winter hurricane. A very rare event, I'm told. I've been through many a hurricane in Florida and Texas but I never expected to go through one in Seattle! Our ritual got canceled in favor of being good little pagans and hunkering down in deference to the Mother.

But thank you and Blessed Be!

31. The winds are just now picking up
We've gotten an inch on snow above the 4 we already had. We are on a convergence zone so whatever the rest of the area gets, we tend to get twice that. We have provisions and we'll just see. Our standard poodle is acting like a puppy, diving into drifts such as they are. He's such a goofy joy.

But I also honor the different celebrations of people of different views and beliefs, whatever they are.
