4. Not sure how that's related to God.
I think it's more related to spineless politicians who are more concerned about their own re-elections than justice.

I figure if one of my students plagiarizes a paper, I know they did it and I pass them anyway, that doesn't prove or disprove the existence of God. It just proves my complete disdain for holding people accountable for their actions.

7. Or, maybe there IS God but he is tired of humans not doing their own work
Never been able to grasp how this hope that 'somebody' or god fix everything for us. That is NOT how a democracy works.

And as granny always said: the lord helps those that helps themselves.

Granny understood democracy. She didn't expect god or 'somebody' to do administer justice, she worked for it her own bad self.

Granny was a suffragette. She KNEW how justice got dished out.

8. We can neither admit the existence of God (or any supernatural occurrence) nor deny it based on this...
Just the agnostic point of view.

9. I am sure that Bushco will walk, so evidently there is no god.
Although I would not make that the determining factor that decides the existence of god. I am sure that when Bush dies there will be some here who will call for his corpse to be put on trial.

11. No Rule of Law, that's for sure. No honor, no justice, no retribution
for the administration that basically destroyed the entire fabric of the country. I really want to know if Obama will appoint a special prosecutor as the NYT suggested.

We let Iran Contra go by the wayside and that in many ways brought us to where we are today. If we let this go by the wayside, the next time around will just be worse beyond our most vivid nightmares.

14. Remember: A shitload of Nazis walked, too.
It's time to start teaching the kids again about a man named Simon Wiesenthal.

I remember when I was a small child in the 60s, it was basically "See THIS man? He hunts down THESE men, the ones who did THIS to THESE people." A very powerful lesson, one that seems to have been forgotten by the children of a generation who swore to never forget.

See, here's the thing. War crimes are crimes against humanity. You can't just sign a piece of paper that says it's okay, and hire a lawyer to say "Yep. Since you signed that piece of paper, that legalizes what used to be a war crime." The Nazis tried that, and they swung from the end of a rope because people worked and fought to bring them to justice sometimes years and even decades after the fact.

So if you don't get instant justice, don't think that's the end of it...especially if you work hard to bring them to justice and don't just sit there and be pissed off that they got away.
